Our Story

Discover the vision shaping modern faith.

Discover a New Interpretation of Faith

One thousand years ago, Christianity was shaken by the split of the church into Eastern and Western branches. Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther again split the church when he brought about a Reformation that answered many people’s questions over their skepticism of old Christian orthodoxy. Today, Christianity needs another 500-year reformation to answer current doubts about a religious worldview that seems outdated.

Goal

The Credibility Challenge

The Credibility Challenge

The Second Reformation’s goal is to introduce a modern interpretation of Christianity. Grounded in the research of the past 150 years. We aim to communicate the essence of the real Jesus to today’s world, grounded in historical research and a renewed approach to traditional doctrine versus outdated orthodoxy.

The Credibility Challenge

Today’s readers have a precise, scientific orientation, but Bible writers were pastoral, metaphoric, and pre-scientific. The Bible was written before the scientific revolution, and our current understanding of the natural world and first-century Israel far surpasses what was known by the Reformers or the early church and  modern doctrine should embrace a subtled discovery science.

Core Values

  • Faith: Faith is a verb; true faith is demonstrated by actions aligned with God’s will (“walking the God Road”)
  • Compassion and Love: God is loving and never wrathful, but He does allow us to suffer due to sin and to natural disasters.
  • Justice and Mercy:  We should act justly, defend the poor and defenseless, and live our lives humbly.
  • Modern Understanding: Christianity should reflect what Jesus was all about, rather than being all about Jesus (His blood and death).
  • Inclusivity: God’s love is universal; salvation is accessible to anyone in the world who walks the God Road.
  • Scholarship: Christians should embrace the settled discoveries of science as God's testament of another sort.
